Reach the Pacific Bay Desk

The quickest way to reach us is a plain email to office@pacific-bay.com. All three writers on the desk read that inbox. We do not have a phone line or a public office, so email is the one channel we answer.

Reasons people write to the desk

  • Something is wrong. A date, a figure, a name or a step that does not match what you see. Errors are handled first.
  • Something has changed. A product, menu, tariff or rule that has been updated since the article was written.
  • Something is missing. A question the article raised but did not answer, or a caution that should be there.
  • A topic idea. A problem from your working week, your car, your home or your shop that you could not find a straight answer to.
  • The site itself. Privacy, cookies, quoting an article or anything else about how Pacific Bay runs.

What helps us reply quickly

  1. Name the article in the subject line, for example "Tire size guide: load index".
  2. Paste the address of the page.
  3. Quote the sentence or step you mean and say what you think is wrong or missing.
  4. If you have a source, such as a manufacturer's manual or an official page, mention where to find it.
  5. Tell us which country you are in when the topic involves rules, tariffs or legal requirements, since they vary.

What we cannot help with

We write general guides and are not advisers. We cannot assess your contract, recommend a specific savings product or loan, comment on a legal case, diagnose your car or approve electrical work on your property. When a question needs someone who can see the details, we will say so and suggest the kind of professional or official body that could help.

Please leave out passwords, bank and card numbers, copies of identity documents and medical details. Nobody on the desk will ever ask for them, and an email asking for such things in our name is not from us.

When you can expect an answer

We usually reply within a few working days. Reports of errors may be answered faster, while topic suggestions sometimes wait until we know whether an article will follow. We read every message, even when a reply takes a little longer than we would like.

Before you write

A few common questions are answered elsewhere on the site already. The Beat We Cover, Explained describes what each desk handles, our checklist for every article shows how guides are researched and checked, and Privacy at Pacific Bay explains what happens to the emails you send. If you are new to the site, First Time Here? is a good place to begin.

This opens your email app with the message ready to send to office@pacific-bay.com. Nothing is stored on this site.

Pre-send check

A quick check for your message

Five details that let us answer properly on the first reply.

  • The article's title or web address is somewhere in the message.
  • The exact sentence or step you mean is quoted.
  • Your country is mentioned when rules, tariffs or legal requirements are involved.
  • Any source for newer information is named.
  • Passwords, account numbers and identity documents are left out.
